The Facts
Chemical abortion (the abortion pill) is not safe for babies, but abortion advocates often say that it’s “Safer than Tylenol” for women.
That couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Complications from the abortion pill—which refers to the chemical process of using two drugs: mifepristone and misoprostol—include infection, hemorrhage, or ruptured ectopic pregnancy. In fact, more women die per dose of Mifepristone than per dose of Tylenol.
Chemical Abortion
Medication abortion is a multi-step process that involves two drugs. Mifepristone blocks progesterone’s effects, which prevents nutrients from being provided to the baby.
Misoprostol is taken 24 to 48 hours later to expel the baby from the woman’s body and complete the abortion.
Abortion Pill Reversal
As soon as possible after taking the first drug, Mifepristone, a woman can possibly reverse the intended effects before taking the second drug, Misoprostol.
The Abortion Pill Reversal Hotline (1-877-558-0333) has received thousands of calls from women who changed their minds after taking the first drug.
Planned Parenthood called abortion pill reversal a “flat out false and dangerous myth.” The only dangerous myth here is that abortion is your only option. Abortion pill reversal is scientific and has a proven track record: using the natural hormone progesterone, medical professionals have been able to save 64-68% of babies through the abortion pill reversal process when their mothers acted quickly enough.
To date, over 4,000 babies have been saved. No one can tell these mothers that reversal is a myth.
